Âme Noire are a 5 piece blackened death metal band from Melbourne, Australia, and this is their debut EP The Tree That Bears Rotten Fruit. Formed less than a year ago, they are already gaining traction on social media and recently completed a tour with Zeolite as well as playing shows with Resist The Thought, Whoretopsy, Hollow World and Hadal Maw. More importantly, the album is quite good. I'm impressed all around that a band still in its infancy pulled off so many solid performances alongside some admirable production. The riffs are fun, the vocals deliver both vicious highs and brutal lows, and I love the little guitar effect that pops up throughout the duration. It adds an extra little touch of character; a personalized signature. Definitely the makings here of something great. FFO: The Black Dahlia Murder, Benighted, Alterbeast
